About

Allison Preisinger has been driven to music since she was a little girl growing up in Western Washington. She particularly remembers listening to music her parents always played. Bands like the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Paul Simon and Genesis. She loved to sing along and picture herself in that singer's shoes.

Allison's musical style and vocals have been compared to a variety of musicians such as Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan, Neil Young and Natalie Merchant. Most of her influences come from rock and alternative music she has listened to since she was young, as well as jazz and blues musicians she discovered later on.

Her latest CD, "Moving On, Moving Forward," includes some of her earliest material, which is how she came up with the title for the album. She considered different titles as she thought of the songs she was including. All she could think about was moving on from all of the memories and feelings behind those songs. Grow up and get on with it! The idea stuck, and she's moved on but she sure loves to share her thoughts and feelings with her audience.

...and yes, those are her shoes on the front.
